Kilcullen Search Process
We strive to cultivate long-standing partnerships with each of our clients and have developed a search process that emphasizes professionalism and open communication, and encourages straightforward feedback.
1. Initial Assessment
We assess each client company by meeting with hiring managers, directors, and corporate officials to gain perspective on the environment and cultural dynamics of the organization. We conduct in- depth discussions to assess client expectations for the search, key aspects of the position to be filled, and professional qualifications required of candidates. We perform additional company-specific research analysis and then formulate a customized search strategy.
2. Position Overview
After the initial assessment, we create a Position Overview for review, revision, and subsequent approval by the hiring managers.
3. Develop Qualified Candidate Pool
With an approved Position Overview in hand, we begin to cull our extensive database for individuals with skill-sets and backgrounds commensurate with the opportunity. This initial screen effectively narrows the list of candidates and creates a “best of class” talent pool.
During this phase, a member of the Kilcullen & Company team interviews qualified potential candidates either in person or by telephone. After successful comprehensive due diligence on the candidates, we present our top prospects for preliminary interviews with the client.
4. Interview Process Oversight
The Kilcullen & Company team is actively involved in the interview process as we coordinate all meetings, prepare the candidates and the client prior to each meeting and provide feedback afterward. Through this stage, we continue to search the marketplace and present new qualified candidates while promptly and professionally handling those who were disqualified.
5. Finalist Phase
As the client narrows the candidate field down to one finalist, we conduct background and reference checks to validate professional experience and compensation. Our team actively assists in compensation negotiation and diligently monitors the process until an employment start date is finalized. In addition, we also assist in the resignation process to ensure that the transition runs smoothly.
At every stop of the process, we seek feedback from both client and candidate and always provide follow-up analysis.
